Sometimes, cancer needs to take a back seat — and that’s what our Day at the Game program is designed to do! This fun-filled event provides a memorable one-day fan experience, giving kids with cancer and their families a chance to live out their dreams.
What Is A Day at the Game?
The day includes tickets for regional sporting events such as University of Alabama and Auburn University football games. And if we can, we arrange for personal meetings with players, coaches, mascots and/or cheerleaders (though this isn’t always possible). Talk about an amazing experience!
If you’re interested in A Day at the Game, sign-up requests for Alabama and Auburn games start now and end on Friday, August 26. Patient families will need to check their email for the link to the sign-up request. A list of who will attend each game will be sent on or before Wednesday, August 31 to all families.
Guidelines for Signing Up
Kids on treatment or post BMT kids have first priority. If tickets are still available, off-therapy patients who have not previously attended a day at the game will be given priority. Feel free to sign-up if you have attended a game before through aTeam, but please realize that first priority will be given to those who have not yet had this opportunity.
The family receiving tickets must use them or, if unable to attend, return them to aTeam with as much prior notice before the game as possible.
Each family is responsible for transportation to and from game.
We will make every effort to serve as many families as possible, but ticket numbers are limited, so signing up does not guarantee that you will receive tickets.
When signing up, please select three possible dates and rank them in the comment section as 1, 2, or 3 in order of preference. This will help us coordinate tickets to distribute them to as many families as possible.
aTeam will host a tailgate for patient families on Saturday, September 10, in Tuscaloosa for the Alabama vs. Western Kentucky game and on Saturday, September 24, in Auburn for the Auburn vs. LSU game.
We Hope to See You There!
Here at aTeam, there’s nothing we love more than serving our patient families. If you know someone we could help, refer them to us. Hope to see you at the game!
