September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness month. Our GOLD Initiative seeks to raise awareness of pediatric cancer and its symbol, the gold ribbon, throughout the month of September. aTeam Ministries works with high schools throughout the state of Alabama to promote awareness through football helmet stickers, gold ribbon paintings on fields, and signs for stadiums. aTeam Ministries also collaborates with individuals, families, and businesses throughout Alabama who graciously wear our t-shirt and place a sign in their yard throughout September to share the message with their communities.
Join us as we raise support and awareness for families on the pediatric cancer journey! Head over to the aStore and grab a t-shirt and a yard sign to spark conversation about our mission. Be sure to share what you’re doing to raise awareness on social media. Tag @ateamministries when you post and use the hashtags #Gold and #aTeamGoesGold!

September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness month. Our GOLD initiative seeks to raise awareness of childhood cancer and its symbol, the gold ribbon. aTeam Ministries works year-round to spiritually, emotionally, and financially support families walking through childhood cancer; however, September provides a special time to show families they are not alone.
For the past 16 years, September has carried a deeply personal meaning for our family. It’s the month set aside to raise awareness for childhood cancer—but for us, it’s more than a campaign; it’s part of our story. Sixteen years ago, our world was forever changed when we heard the words no parent expects to hear: our child had cancer. In the midst of that journey, God placed a vision on our hearts—a vision that became aTeam Ministries. We knew firsthand the fears, needs, and challenges families face when battling childhood cancer, and we felt called to walk alongside them. What began as a small meeting with friends in the basement of our home quickly grew into a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families through their toughest battles.Every September, we pause to honor the countless children who show us what it truly means to be brave. This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we invite you to stand with us, spread awareness, and support the children and families we serve. What will you do this September to be “BRAVE like a KID”?
